Narcolepsy is triggered by a deficiency in the hypocretin cells in the hypothalamus. To begin with we made a model of cross section of the human brain. This details where the hypothalamus is located in comparison to the other areas of the brain. We then created two models of the hypothalamus one of a narcoleptic brain and the other of a healthy brain. The narcoleptic brain only had a few hypocretin cells(beads) while the healthy brain held an abundance of hypocretin cells(beads). The model detailed what was occurring in the brain which can be found in the How it Works section, and also held a key with labels for the specific parts of the brain and what the beads represented.
